💎 Is your jewellery valuation up to date?
Many people don't realise that a jewellery valuation isn't something you have done once and forget about. In fact, an out-of-date valuation could leave you significantly underinsured.
Over the past few years, we've seen substantial increases in the cost of precious metals, diamonds, coloured gemstones and manufacturing. A ring valued five years ago could now cost thousands more to replace with an equivalent piece.
An up-to-date insurance valuation ensures:
✨ You have the correct level of cover.
✨ Your insurer has an accurate description of each item.
✨ You can replace your jewellery like-for-like if the unexpected happens.
✨ You avoid the disappointment of receiving a settlement that falls short of today's replacement cost.
As a general guide, I recommend reviewing your jewellery valuations every 2–3 years, or sooner if there have been significant market changes or you've altered a piece.
Your jewellery often carries more than financial value—it represents memories, milestones and loved ones. Making sure it's properly protected is one of the simplest things you can do.
If you're unsure whether your valuation is still current, I'd be happy to help.
