Yes, green screen shoots can save you money, but only if they are approached with an end goal in mind.
Arguably, green screen studios are generally the best place to shoot because you have plenty of room, trying to shoot green screen footage on a green cloth in the only available small conference room with a table that cannot be moved in the middle is a false economy, why I hear you ask?
Well, it means you will end up spending more time and money in post production trying to fix problems like having people stood too close to the green background which is an easy giveaway that space was not available and you end up with furry lines around their bodies, you know what I mean, when it's used as a tool for satire for example, it works, because what you're viewing helps sell the idea being satirised, but when you want crisp clean edges and a certain look that suits your brand so you can add in graphic elements alongside the person talking, the green screen element needs care and attention.
