A single thought can trigger a lifetime of fears

A single thought can trigger fear that stays with someone for a lifetime.
And yet… we never know what our next thought will be.

That’s always struck me as both strange and extraordinary.

A thought alone can create powerful emotional and physical responses in the body: mental, emotional, psychological - all at once.

During my training, I worked with a memory that felt particularly alive.
I was with my cousin, both of us on old, rusty bicycles with no brakes, flying down a mountain road.

No control. No fear. Just pure joy. Pure freedom.
We were very young and carefree.

As part of the exercise, I had to gently play with the thought, noticing how different emotions came and went.
What surprised me most was how sad I felt when that high, expansive feeling faded, even momentarily.

And how relieved I was when I realised I could bring it back.

It reminded me how fluid our inner world really is.

Our brain is phenomenal, truly.

If you’re in a space where certain thoughts or emotions feel heavy, repetitive, or hard to shift, you don’t have to navigate them alone.

You’re welcome to message me and we can explore how I might support you.

Being “the strong one” is burning you out.
You overthink. Stay quiet. Then replay it all later.
